Hit the Switch - Horseriding at The Ranch
With advancements in technology, the lifestyle of our current generation is so high paced that our society struggles to switch off and be present. For The Ranch owners, Jodi and Aaron Neary, they wanted to create a place where families could come together in a natural environment and hit the switch ‘off,’ on technology, and settle into a saddle of outdoor adventure!
Set on over 200 acres of green pastures and rolling hills, The Ranch on Boneo Road in Cape Schanck is a western-themed adventure park.
Horseriding
The Ranch caters to all levels from beginner right through to experienced riders. Riding is available to all people from seven years old and fully supervised. The spectacular scenery, beautiful horses, and caring staff combine for an incredible day out.
Horses are carefully selected for you based on your ability, size and age. The Ranch staff are there to support you throughout the ride, offering safe riding techniques, encouragement and friendly banter.
Whether it’s a pony ride, horse-grooming experience, beginner or experienced trail rides, a beach ride or equine therapy, horseriding at The Ranch is the perfect place to connect with these incredible animals and get out amongst the Peninsula’s beautiful natural surroundings.
Mountain Boarding
The fun doesn’t have to end after your horse ride! The Ranch has recently built a world-class outdoor mountain boarding facility quickly becoming popular and known as the year-round snowboarding activity.
A crossover between skateboarding and snowboarding, with elements of other action sports such as BMX, The Ranch is home to the only purpose-built Mountainboard Park in Australia.
Boasting beginner downhill trails, a border cross track for the more experienced, as well as a freestyle area to practise your jumps and tricks for the more advanced.
Their team of expert instructors can teach and develop skills and techniques in this truly unique sport.
‘Old West Town’
There’s an onsite cafe open on the weekends housed in the beautiful sandstone chapel and while you are visiting, why not take a walk around the Old West-themed town and meet some of the farm animals dotted amongst the cabins, wagons, sheriff’s office, jailhouse and livery stable.
